Conference Amenities

The Hamlet of Duncton Mill

The magical hamlet of Duncton Mill consists of the Georgian Farmhouse, the Apple Loft Meeting Room, the Long Barn Meeting room and three cottages.

There are extensive grounds leading on into the glorious South Downs with views of the trout hatchery, the trout pond and the fishing lakes.

Our role is to help you to plan your stay at Duncton Mill, so that your needs can be fully met. As each group has individual needs, we ensure that we address them by offering you a bespoke service. We can tailor the amenities at Duncton Mill to help you make your meeting a complete success.

Georgian Farmhouse

Dating from 1769, this lovely Georgian house is perfect for board meetings and small group activities where privacy, comfort, and a relaxed setting are your key requirements.

The ground floor features a boardroom, a breakout room leading onto the terrace (from here, gardens slope down to the trout pond, with views of the hamlet and the South Downs in the background), and garden views from every aspect - including a private walled garden to the north of the Farmhouse.

Apple Loft Meeting Room

This sensitively converted barn has a kitchenette and two facilities on the ground floor (one disabled) for mini breaks.

The upper floor has under-floor heating and Velux windows, with blinds for complete blackout. 37' x 20' x 7' ft 10" high (11.4m x 6.1m x 2.4m high).

The facility can be used in various ways: for meetings of up to 30 with chairs, flip charts, PowerPoint projector and screen, or up to twenty mats and backjacks for seating at floor level e.g. for workshops, meetings, yoga sessions (we also provide yoga mats) and wellbeing retreats.

Long Barn Meeting Room

Located directly opposite the Apple Loft, the dimensions are 59' x 13' x 7' 9" high (18m x. 4m x 2.4m high). It is ideal for meetings of many kinds, including sessions that utilize PowerPoint presentations for up to 30 people. Facilities include projector and screen, OHP, flip charts and pens. The Long Barn is appropriate for therapies, yoga sessions, Tai Chi and wellbeing retreats. Movable partitioning allows flexible division into two or three separate zones for break away activities and sub-groups.

The Grounds

We find that the extensive grounds are used various ways for team building and away-day activities; from archery, clay-pigeon shooting and fishing, to groups around the log fire. There is a meditation walk hidden in the copse above the Farmhouse, and there are idyllic walks into the Downs from Duncton Mill which can also be incorporated into your day. We provide maps for your convenience.

Bed and Breakfast

This can also be arranged for those who would like to stay on and enjoy a relaxing intimate break.
