Indoor facilities
There are two workshop spaces. The “Apple Loft” and the “Long Barn.” These are opposite each other and surrounded by the house and cottages. The five sitting-rooms on site allow for flexibility of group structure, as these can be used for sub-group meetings during the course day and for social groups in the evening.
The “Apple Loft” is a listed building which has recently been sensitively converted to provide a wonderful light and airy workshop space. Under-floor heating and a pale oak floor add to the simple authenticity of this delightful space. The original rafters and beams have been retained. The lighting has been carefully thought out to provide a wide range of possibilities. Good ventilation has also been considered.
The floor of the “Apple Loft” measures:- 37 ft 6 inches long x 20ft 8 inches wide or 11.4 metres long by 6.1 metres wide.
Downstairs there is an entrance lobby with lovely space, coat hooks, shoe lockers - no shoes upstairs please, we provide slippers - and two loos. One of these is a disabled facility. The simple, wide, oak staircase leads to the workshop.
There is also a kitchenette downstairs for drinks, snacks etc with cleaning-up facilities. In effect it is a butler’s pantry designed to allow breaks, contained within the building.
We can provide for many types of courses.
We have 10 couches and seats on casters for bodywork, space for up to 18 Yoga mats, plenty of chairs and numerous cushions, padded mats and Zafus. There are also a number of cellular blankets. If you need any other specialist equipment, please discuss your requirements with us.
Further equipment includes a projector and screen for power point presentations (please bring your own laptop) an overhead projector and flip charts and coloured pens. We also have T.V with video accommodating English and American settings.
The “Long Barn” is a simpler building and very suitable for meetings and seminars. It is carpeted, heated and well lit. Longer and slightly narrower than the “Apple Loft”, it will accommodate about 60 chairs and it could also serve as a secondary workshop space for teachers using the “Apple Loft” who may want to split the group up into two.
The "Long Barn" measures:- 59 ft long, 13ft wide and 7ft 9 inches high or 18 metres long. 4 metres wide and 2.4 metres high.
Other indoor facilities include sitting rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, wood-burning stove, TV, video, WiFi , washing and drying machines, even self charging torches beside each front door.
Outdoor facilities
There is an open-air swimming pool on site, behind one of the cottages. This is available for our exclusive use in appropriate seasons.
On the hill above the farmhouse there is a dedicated bonfire site with plenty of dry wood fire lighters etc.
There are two secluded outdoor Tai Chi or Yoga areas on grass. We also have a large cloth labyrinth, designed to walk on, for use indoors or out.
Hidden in the copse above the bonfire site there is a meditation walk. A 12 metre circular walk surrounds the five foot hand carved sandstone Buddha from Northern India. This is for individuals or groups to use when they wish.
