Directions to Duncton Mill
From London
Take A3 south for about 30 miles by-passing the city of Guildford. About 5 miles south of Guildford on the A3 bear off left following the signs for the A283: Milford & Petworth . Then from Petworth follow directions below:-
From Heathrow
The easiest way is to take the coach/bus from Heathrow to Gatwick and then by train to Pulborough. By car:-Follow M25 West then M25 South and go round to Junction 10. Take the A3 South: Guildford. On the A3 about 5 miles south of Guildford bear off left following the signs for the A283: Milford & Petworth. Then from Petworth follow directions below:-
From Gatwick
Take M23 south to Junction 11. Follow the A264 to Horsham. By-passing Horsham then take the A24 south, direction Worthing for about 7 miles. Turn right on to the A272 to Billingshurst and Petworth then follow the directions below:-
From Petworth
Take the A285 direction Chichester and continue for about 3 miles to and through the village of Duncton. Pass Seaford College on your right and at the foot of the Downs take the left hand turn. This is the road to Sutton, but is not signed from this direction. Then take the first turning left, there is a wooden signpost marked ("Bridleway Only and Duncton Mill") follow the tarmac road steeply down into Duncton Mill.
From Chichester
From the Chichester by-pass (A27) direction Arundel and Brighton take the first slip road A285 to Petworth. Follow the road up into the Downs for about 9 miles. The road descends steeply down the tree lined Duncton Hill. At the foot of the hill, take the turning right to Sutton (this sign is difficult to see). Almost immediately there is a turning left, a wooden sign, marked as "Bridleway Only and Duncton Mill." Follow the tarmac road down steeply into Duncton Mill.
From Billingshurst, Pulborough, Storrington or Arundel
It's easy to get lost in the back lanes! Best to go to Petworth and follow directions from there.
By train From London, Chichester or Gatwick:
Take the London Victoria Line (which passes through Gatwick airport). Travel to Pulborough (two stops south of Gatwick) and take a taxi to Duncton Mill.
