Workshops and Retreats - Accommodation

The accommodation at Duncton Mill consists of a large farmhouse and three cottages. These, the chef's cottage and the two workshops form the hamlet.

In the farmhouse there are four large twin bedrooms and two single bedrooms. There are two sitting-rooms with wood-burning stoves and TV. There are ample, well fitted bathrooms with plenty of hot water. The dining-room contains a magnificent refectory table, seating twenty in comfort. The house is spacious, well-equipped and elegant.

Two of the cottages at the retreat centre have two twin bedrooms each. Both of substantial size and with well-appointed bathrooms.

The third cottage, sometimes used by course leaders, has a twin-bedded balcony bedroom and bathroom.

All cottages are designed to be self-contained and include a sitting room, a fully equipped kitchen, wood-burning stove, TV, video, washing and drying machine. In other words, a complete house. Even a torch by the front door!

Each of the cottages has its own traditional and individual character.

The whole hamlet in quintessentially English.

If a retreat centre is not comfortable, warm and exlusive to the group, containment can become a problem.

Both Mike and Barbara are experienced teachers themselves and aim to provide a venue fully equipped for the needs of teachers of a great number of therapies. The stardards of accommodation are high and we will always consider ways in which your hire of the centre can be improved.

Duncton Mill is run as a centre for teaching and although we provide many of the facilities of a hotel, we are not one! We like to think that we provide a friendlier and more homely environment than a hotel, where people help out a little during their stay and get a sense of particiipation whilst they are here. Just simple things like washing up;(or at least helping to load or unload the very efficient dish washers), keeping the place tidy and stripping beds at the end of your stay. (We will remake them).
